At Bird Construction Company, Evan managed the Nanaimo Armoury and Technical Storage Facility project. His responsibilities included full project control from budget and design coordination through to procurement and construction administration. Evan liaised closely with owners and consultants, chaired design and site meetings, prepared schedules and detailed budget reports, negotiated and appointed subcontractors, and managed change orders, shop drawings and progressive handover. He implemented ISO 9000 quality management plans and ensured accurate evaluation and approval of subcontractor payments.
